Former SG man gets 18 years for 2006 armed robbery
A former Spring Grove man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery.
Mark C. Kozik, 36, admitted to robbing the Payday Loan Store in McHenry in December 2006 as part of a negotiated plea accepted Thursday by Judge Sharon Prather.
Kozik currently is serving a federal sentence for bank robbery. He was linked to the robbery of National City Bank in Fox Lake. Police also believed that he and his wife, Heidi Kunz-Kozik, were responsible for bank robberies in Spring Grove and Lakemoor, as well as robberies at payday loan stores in Antioch and Crystal Lake.
Kunz-Kozik previously was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
